The 2024 Open Championship will be held at Royal Troon
Historic Scottish course to host major for tenth time
The 152nd Open Championship will be held at Royal Troon in 2024, it was announced today.
The South Ayrshire links course will host the Championship for the tenth time, having previously staged the event in 1923, 1950, 1962, 1973, 1982, 1989, 1997, 2004 and 2016.
Royal Troon is one of the most challenging links courses in the world, with narrow fairways, deep bunkers and unpredictable winds. It has been a popular venue for the Open Championship over the years, with some of the game's greatest players winning the Claret Jug on its hallowed turf.
The 2024 Open Championship will be held from 14-21 July, and will be the 152nd edition of the tournament. It will be the first Open to be held at Royal Troon since 2016, when Henrik Stenson won the Claret Jug.
