Hugh Freeze Depicted in The Blind Side Movie
Hollywood Portrayal
Hugh Freeze, the current head coach of the Auburn Tigers, had a character inspired by him in the film adaptation of Michael Oher's life story, "The Blind Side." However, the role was not played by Freeze himself.
Freeze's Involvement
Freeze coached Oher at Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis. He was depicted in the book and film as a supportive and influential figure in Oher's life. He led Briarcrest to a 94-30 record during his 10 years as head coach, with a winning percentage of 78.5%.
Character in the Film
In the film, Freeze's character is portrayed by Tim McGraw. McGraw's character, Sean Tuohy, is a composite of Freeze and other individuals who played a role in Oher's upbringing.
